A Prayer of Thanks for Those Who Advocate on Our Behalf: Our Spirit Guides
Lessons of Light Issue #13
This came out in my writing the other morning, and maybe it’s meant for some of you, too. If it speaks to you, reply to this email and let me know or comment below. ✨
Dear Spirit Guides,
Thank you for advocating on behalf of our expansion.
We feel nervous when we feel ourselves wanting to stretch and move into our next level of evolution.
But please know: we do want this. Even when we say we’re scared.
We understand that our egos want to hold us back and keep us idle, making us believe they’re keeping us safe. We understand that growing can feel uncomfortable. We understand that we need to call upon courage.
Infinite Intelligence, please help us to embrace the Void with the love of a divine mother. Help us to embrace the uncertainties, the unknown, and our shadows with the love of a divine mother — with understanding, grace, and the unwavering belief in our limitless potential and possibilities, as we would for our children.
Please be a divine parent who lets us know that everything will be okay. No matter what. When we say, “Can I do this?,” please reply, “Of course, sweetheart. We have no doubt.”
Please help us have this unwavering belief in ourselves.
Let us challenge ourselves with new experiences that we know are meant for our personal and spiritual growth. Let us be surprised. We want awe and wonder.
We know that growth comes when we get out of our routines and safety zones.
But, sometimes we’re scared — and yet, we want to keep moving forward. We want to be here — in life and of life. Let us show up for ourselves with the level of compassion and love that we would give to our children and animals.
Let us love ourselves in the same way.
So when we hold back, when we find ourselves choosing the safe, easy, or familiar path, please challenge us in the most loving ways.
Bring us the opportunities and experiences that will help us to expand beyond what our limited minds tells us is meant for us. For the highest good for all.
Let us feel like children again where possibilities feel endless and our imagination lets us believe that anything wonderful is possible.
Thank you.
When was the last time you felt truly lit up—not just “fine” or “getting through” — but alive, joyful, free?
For so many midlife women, joy takes a backseat. Life gets full. And then suddenly you find yourself wondering, “What’s next for me?”
That’s why I created a FREE workshop:
You’re Not Too Late: A Workshop to Reconnect with What Lights You Up
Thursday, April 10 at 9:30 am PST
Together, we’ll:
♦️ Define what joy means to you now
♦️ Uncover something that’s been dimming your light
♦️ Discover small shifts to feel more connected and fulfilled
I’ll also share how you can go deeper in my 8-week course, You Should Totally Do It — but for now, just bring your heart, your curiosity, and your beautiful soul.
You’re not too late.
Let’s remember what lights you up.
Did I mention that this workshop is free? ⤵️ Come join me!
For anyone who signs up today or attends my workshop, I’m offering $50 off my course You Should Totally Do It. Click here and use the code: MOMENTUM
I am so delighted by Amy Poehler’s new podcast called Good Hang. It’s just good fun with interesting people. As she says, this podcast is not about making trying to make you better or giving advice. Amy just wants to have a good time. For people like us who are very dedicated to our daily spiritual and personal growth, sometimes we just need something purely entertaining to listen to by people who are also incredibly inspiring like Tina Fey (boss lady with boundaries), Ike Barinholtz (I love him and his attitude towards his career and life!), and Martin Short (the best!). Take a listen when you get a chance.

In this new episode, we explore how fear shapes our lives. We all understand that fear is a natural human experience, yet how we respond to it — either with surrender or with resistance — determines whether it controls us or is an opportunity for growth. Fear, when left unchecked, creates illusions that trap us in cycles of suffering.
However, we learn that there is a way out. The key lies in understanding two powerful forces. Here’s a snippet. ↘️
